N2 - This master thesis deals with methods from requirements engineering within an intralogistics software solution from KNAPP named KiSoft, to obtain a basic specification regarding reporting. The task is to analyze the current situation and software solution, to state the benefits resulting from a standardized reporting solution and to develop a way to gather requirements from the inhouse project leads in order to write a specification. To successfully fulfill this task, the thesis is structured into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part introduces the reader into the intralogistics domain. Basic definitions, -processes and goals are described before transitioning into the requirements engineering domain by explaining the basics of warehouse management software and reporting/ KPIs. In the chapter requirements engineering, the classification of the topic, the explanation of requirements as well as the reasons for requirements engineering are clarified before comparing the approaches of different standards and guides to develop a procedure for solving the above-mentioned task. This procedure provides the framework for the practical part. Within this implementation chapter, the latter mentioned approach will be implemented step by step whereas the main focus lies on gathering requirements for the specification. For this reason, the elicitation method “interview” will be chosen and eight technical project leads will be interviewed. From this information the requirements will be extracted and often used KPIs will be collected. Finally, the results are summarized and future operations will be suggested to continuously improve KiSoft.
