N2 - The research is devoted to the important issues of finding effective methods of increasing the capacity of main oil pipelines through the development of algorithms for calculation automation and the solution of optimization problems to achieve the best technical and economic performance with a low payback period of measures. At present, due to the instability of demand in the global energy markets, geopolitical tensions and forced diversification of the most profitable export routes of Russian oil supply, the issues of building up and redirection of flows both within the country and to the world markets have become acute. In this case, in contrast to the tasks of the 20th century, due to the high cost of materials, complexity, and duration of design, as well as the volatile nature of the demand for Russian energy resources from Western and Eastern countries, it is not possible to solve this problem simply by building expensive new oil pipelines because of the high risks and payback period. The global energy agenda in terms of achieving carbon neutrality and the development of green energy requires rapid, effective methods of increasing the volume of pumping in the current directions in the short term, characterized by high prices for energy resources. The aims of the present research are to find the most effective methods of increasing the capacity of main oil pipelines and to develop automated calculation and optimization algorithms to reduce the time for variation of various design solutions based on minimum initial data on the economics of retrospective already implemented projects, as well as technical conditions and technological limitations of the oil pipeline operation. In order to achieve this purpose, the problems of analytical review of existing approaches to solving similar or close to thematic problems, retrospective analysis of implemented projects, development of automated calculation tools and optimization algorithms based on theoretical and practical methods of solving hydraulic and economic problems are solved. The paper proposes a method for selecting the optimal method of increasing the carrying capacity, including a hydraulic calculations module and optimization algorithm
