Abstract
Greenblock Machine & Service Gmbh offers products that use machine oxyfuel cutting and that are in direct competition with processes such as hand cutting. At the moment, the order calculation of the company Greenblock Machine & Service GmbH is done by hand. With the current procedure, it is not possible to give an overview of all costs incurred during the customer meeting. Therefore, the aim of the present work was to develop a tool with Microsoft Excel, with which all costs incurred for the company's product can be presented in comparison to competitor processes within a short period of time. Based on a literature study, the theoretical foundations around the relevant technical processes as well as cost and investment accounting were developed. For the use case, the processes of pyrometallurgical recycling, landfilling and comparative costing turned out to be suitable and were used for the creation of the tool. The tool was tested by means of three use cases in which different types of steel were selected. The processes depicted in the tool were compared using a low-alloy, a medium-alloy and a high-alloy steel grade. In the case of high-alloy steel, the product from Greenblock Machine & Service GmbH succeeded in achieving cost leadership. In the comparison of manual cutting with a heavy-duty cutting torch, the mobile system for the medium-alloy steel was on a par with the other systems in terms of total costs including material loss. For the low-alloy steel, hand cutting with a heavy-duty cutting torch is the cost leader. This is due to the low material value of the low alloy steel. Furthermore, it has been found that if the slag is handed over to a ferroalloy producer, considerable cost saving potentials are possible for disposal. However, this is only possible for slags with a nickel content greater than 2%. In comparison with manual cutting by means of an oxygen lance, the mobile plant performed better for all three steels and can clearly be recommended as the more cost-effective process. In order to be able to achieve cost leadership in comparison with the heavy cutting torch for medium and low-alloy steel in the future, it is recommended to install additional torches in the mobile system so that several cuts can be made simultaneously.
