Abstract
In comparison to the analytical solutions of Hoek and Vlachopoulos the numerical results of FLAC3D are quite comparable. Considering the numerical results Vlachopoulos describes the Longitudinal Deformation Profile (LDP) better than Hoek. The installation of a shotcrete layer has several impacts on the radial deformation profile, which the incremental adjustment of the LDP of Vlachopoulos tries to cover. Nevertheless the adjusted LDP does not fit exactly. There are influences before and at the tunnel face, that affect the LDP.
