New market for Sandvik Cone Crushers

Research output: Thesis › Master's Thesis (University Course)

Abstract

An unexplored market in Brazil, the need for growth and incessant search for methods and processes more efficient. In this project is reported a field study done with Sandvik equipment to show a more efficient process, reducing costs for customers at the same time increasing the area of actuation of Sandvik in the mining market. A test performed in Brucutu Mine, located in the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, was the gateway for quaternary crusher market, which Sandvik had no activity in the past. The idea of this test was to demonstrate a more efficient process due to machine design and automation system which allows a better control of equipment and its process. The relevance of comminution system in the whole context of mineral production and the relation between energy and comminution are topics that are described in more details along this work. References and master's theses were essential, so that these topics were described in more detail and substantiated. To demonstrate the facts before making the tests a few KPIs have been agreed in order to compare the performance of the Sandvik crusher with the existing equipment. And the results of those data were analyzed and measured so that they can be used as reasoned arguments, opening the door for Sandvik increasing the area of action in mining customers.
