Modifikation der Oberflächenacidität mischoxidischer CO-Oxikatalysatoren zur Verbesserung der SO2-Resistenz

Research output: ThesisMaster's Thesis

Abstract

The aim of this work is to contribute to the development of a more SO2-resistant mixedoxide catalyst, used for CO-oxidation in the low temperature-off-gases between 200 °C and 250 °C. The focus lies particularly on perovskit- and spinel based materials, which are analysed regarding the cation distribution inside the lattice and consequently the Lewis-acidity of the materials surface. The influence of doping-substances on the occurrence of electronchargeprocesses is from great relevance to modify the structure and will therefore be taken into account. Based on these issues a better understanding of the SO2-deactivation mechanism itself will be possible. Experimental investigations are made to verify the functionality and the actual SO2-resistance of the proposed catalysts. Therefore the mixedoxide powders are tested under dry and humid conditions, regarding the oxidation of CO. To conclude the thesis, an outlook on necessary work in the future is given.
