Modellierung von Treibhausgasemissionen in Intermodalterminals

Research output: ThesisMaster's Thesis

Abstract

Sustainability in transport logistics is becoming increasingly important. This plays nowadays a major role along the entire transport chain. Transporting goods by rail is one of the most environmentally friendly methods. However, it is still necessary to use a type of transportation on the road for the pre- and post carriage in order to bring the goods from the rail to the customer and vice versa. In this sense, combined transport combines both the advantages of rail and the high flexibility of road transport. A large number of models are already known for calculating the emissions that occur during the transport of goods. However, only average values are used for the CO2 values generated at the intermodal terminals with regard to the overall calculation. This thesis aims to change this issue by using suitable easy-to-use tools. This can make it easier to draw up a CO2 balance at intermodal terminals and provide detailed results for the operators. Through which, in a further step, possibilities for improvement can be derived.
