Konzepte für die Gewinnung von Polyolefinen aus gemischten Gewerbeabfällen für das Recycling

Research output: ThesisMaster's Thesis

Abstract

This master's thesis deals with the development and implementation of plant concepts for the extraction of polyolefins from mixed commercial waste for recycling. Three preliminary experiments were conducted initially. Subsequently, a total of three material recovery trials were carried out at an Austrian waste treatment plant, testing two different plant concepts. After the initial experiments, it was decided to mechanically recycle only polypropylene particles. The material obtained during these trials was sorted twice in the Digital Waste Research Lab at the Montanuniversität Leoben. A polypropylene concentrate with a total mass of 551.3 kg could be produced. Following this, preparations were made for the mechanical recycling of the generated polypropylene concentrate, including the shredding of the material and a washing process. After the production of the final polypropylene concentrate, which had a mass of 534.1 kg, planning for future steps and additional plant concepts was carried out with the aim of industrializing this recycling process. Additionally, the achieved recycling rates were described and then calculated.
