N2 - The object of research is the stress-strain state of rock massif. The subject of research is the mechanism of influence of deformation properties of above-coal rocks strata on the roof support loading. Purpose of the work is the improvement of operational reliability of the roof support in stope and development workings. Research methods: overview of scientific research; analytical research; underground investigations; computer monitoring of pressure indicators in hydraulic props of roof support sections; computer modeling that is based on the numerical mathematical method of finite elements. Results of underground investigations and numerical experiments by finite element method with the calculation stress-strained state of multiparametric geomechanical systems are presented, as well as underground investigations that include the stoping and development works during the extraction of thin and very thin coal seams in the complex geological conditions of mines of Western Donbass; recommendations on parameters of extraction works for these conditions on the basis of monitoring of the plough longwall are formed.
