The Vogel & Noot Wärmetechnik limited company, whichs situated in Wartberg im Mürztal, was endavoured to introduce a health & safety management system by the specifications of OHSAS 18001. Within the scope of this project this aim should be realized. In addition to that the seamless integration of this management system in the already existing environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001 was of importance. Knowledge of health and safety in companies, the technical standard OHSAS 18001 and integrated management systems was a precondition to put this project optimally into practice. For achieving this required field of knowledge the actual status concerning health & safety had to be analyzed. After the composition of an appropriate environment - health & saftey policy, all aspects of health & safety could be determined. To facilitate the work with the new system, an essential structure for a common management system was generated. Subsequently the documentation, demanded by the specifications of OHSAS 18001, could be made up step by step. In order to make the documents easily accessable, the creation of a homepage for the intranet of Vogel & Noot Wärmetechnik was necessary. After the completion of the practical part of this project a suggestion, which has to take into consideration synergy and saving potential within this department, for a quality -environmental - health & safety system had to be worked out.
