Abstract

Within the OMV-Project „Plastic Reborn” the chair of mineral processing acquired an industrial scale jigging machine. By means of which secondary feed material, that consists mostly of diverse plastics, shall be cleansed of mineral impurities and wooden particles. This thesis determines the suitability of the pulsator jig SK 3-10 made by Siebtechnik as cleansing- and sorting apparatus for primary and secondary feed material. Additionally, a detailed manual for the handling of the jig is created. For this purpose iron ore from the styrian Erzberg with a grainsize ranging from 1 [mm] to 20 [mm] and secondary feed material (industrial residues) will be used. By means of design of experiments (DoE), statistical methods are used to show the impact of crucial parameters and their interactions. Finally, the suitability of the obtained data for upscaling is discussed.
