Abstract

The increasing demand of new technologies leads to more complex material compositions in the end products, especially in electrical devices. This makes recycling difficult at the end of their service life. For this purpose, new and more effective recycling processes are constantly being researched. The investigations of this master thesis are concerned with the hydrometallurgical recovery of valuable metals from a copper alloy, which can be obtained from electronic scrap by crushing, pyrolysis, smelting and gas atomization. Accordingly, the theoretical part describes the handling of this secondary raw material. This includes the composition, the legal framework and alternative processing options. The main focus is on wet chemical recycling routes. The experiments are divided into the preliminary and the main tests. The pilot trial determines the optimal operating conditions for leaching the Cu alloy with a synthetic sulfuric electrolyte. H2O2 is used to increase the leaching efficiency. With the obtained data, a recovery cycle, consisting of leaching, cementation and electrolysis, can be developed. Finally, the results of mass balances, tables and diagrams are discussed.
