Abstract
Until recently fine-grained, aluminium-containing residual materials were disposed regardless of their metal content, with their containing valuable substances irrecoverable for future processes. The residues used in this master thesis, which are as well to dispose of, thus represent an important input material. The aim of this thesis was to investigate the influencing factors on the melting-metallurgical recovery of aluminium-containing, agglomerated recycling material. On the one hand this includes a theoretical consideration of these parameters, like the input material’s oxide-content as well as the composition of melting salt, fluxes and salt bath parameters respectively on the metal yield. On the other hand practical researches in two different types of furnaces took place. By use of Design of Experiments in MODDE 11 a concept for the experiments was created. Previous to the melting metallurgical investigations the residues were briquetted in a stamping press since the particle size of the input material has a direct influence on the charging ability into the furnace and the metal yield respectively as well as it leads to a reduction of dust pollution. Concluding, the evaluation of the outcomes was realised by use of Excel and MODDE 11. The generated results constitute a promising foundation for the recycling of aluminium-containing residual materials with low quality.
