Abstract

Knowledge about influencing factors and their effects along the whole production process is necessary for producing accurate microfluidic chips for medical-technical applications. Therefore in this thesis the influence of processing parameters in injection mouling and bonding on the quality of the chips was investigated. This thesis also characterises every step of the production process and analyses the effects of one step to another. For comparison measurements along the process chain were standardised. For injection moulding and bonding experiments were realised and reasonable process intervals were found. Consequently also the effects of defined influencing factors were detected. For injection moulding the process interval was found by taking into account burr at demoulding, replication and deflection of the plastic parts. Furthermore also the effect on shrinkage, thickness distribution and roughness was investigated. Significant variations of investigated factors (except roughness) due to the influence factors were found. After bonding the plastic parts were analysed optically. Burr at demoulding and long activating times caused an impairment of the chips. An investigation of channel depth, roughness and deflection along the whole production process was made. It was shown, that channel depth and roughness of the plastic parts were influenced by previous process steps. The deflection in contrast was mainly caused by injection moulding.
