Demand Side Management am Beispiel einer Holzschliffanlage

Research output: ThesisMaster's Thesis

Abstract

Demand side management (DSM) will be a key factor in the further energy industry. The cost of implementation in the industry are estimated low. Due to variable energy pricing we find financial incentives for implementing DSM into industry. The challenge is to handle a continuous production and timing the change in electric consumption properly. Decisions have to be made up on an uncertain data basis, this is due to the volatile electricity production of renewable energy sources. The carton board mill in Frohnleiten will be equipped with an extended pulp storage. The process of pulp production is very energy intensive and was shown as an example for DSM in several studies. This work considers the accurate operation of the extended pulp storage and how to stretch the approach of demand side management over the horizon of prognosis. Several concepts were created and evaluated. A control logic for an automated software solution was created for a selected scenario.
