Abstract
To investigate catalytic reforming of methane for the generation of synthesis gas (H2+CO), a test plant was built at the Institute of Process Engineering at the University of Leoben. The plant should enable the production of a synthesis gas with an H2/CO ratio of 2 while achieving a high conversion of methane, carbon dioxide and/or oxygen. This thesis describes the construction and commissioning of the reforming plant and is intended to provide support during operation and any conversion work that may be required. The design and construction of the plant was covered in a previous Master Thesis titled "Design of an Experimental Plant for Catalytic Reforming", published in March 2019. Based on this detailed outline of the experimental plant, the facility was constructed in the technical center of the Institute of Process Engineering, apart from some modifications. After verifying the functionality of all components, first tests for bi reforming were carried out, although with unsatisfactory results. Based on these, optimization measures to improve the conversion of the feedstock are presented.
