N2 - An LCA examines the environmental impact of a product over its life cycle, depending on requirements. This study examines the upcoming quantity of waste and CO2 emissions over the lifecycle of in Vienna produced and sold tomatoes and cucumbers. The examination starts with the production and harvesting, the preparation for sale, food retailers, respective transport and ends with consumption, in the time frame of 2015. The lifecycle inventory analysis leads to a total view of the investigated parameters to help create awareness of environmental impacts. A separate chapter on the topic of waste, is trying to outline the way of waste prevention and especially for food waste, recycling and energy recovery, through the individual stakeholders, on the life cycle assessment.
